The event will be held at the Police Scotland College, Tulliallan, from Monday May 20 to Thursday May 23.

It will see police dogs and their handlers from across the UK compete in a series of trials, including agility, searching and obedience.

Police Scotland last hosted the event back in 2015.

Police dogs Amber, Eli and Lusa will be representing Police Scotland in the competition.

The event will be open to members of the public from Tuesday, May 21, with the competition reaching its climax on Thursday. Further details for members of the public will be released closer to the event.

Chief Inspector Cath Thorburn of Police Scotland’s Operational Support Division said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the 62nd National Police Dog Trials and are looking forward to meeting dogs and their handlers from across the UK.

“Police dog units make an extremely valuable contribution to keeping people safe and deterring crime across Scotland and beyond. All of those competing will be showcasing skill, control and discipline of the highest standard.

“Preparations are well under way and we look forward to what will no doubt be a fantastic event.”
