Police Sergeant Transferee
Type: Permanent Location: North West Organisation: Merseyside Police

Why transfer to Merseyside Police

Policing on Merseyside is dynamic, challenging, rewarding and we take pride in everything we do. We are one of the best performing urban Forces as graded by HMICFRS and our strategy is to put the communities of Merseyside first in all we do. We have a strong focus on continuous improvement with particular emphasis on our approach to Reducing Violence Against Women and Girls; Tackling Serious Organised Crime and County Lines; Enhancing our approach to Diversity and Inclusion; and building trust and legitimacy through our approach to Community Engagement.

Merseyside is one of the smallest geographical forces, but serves a diverse population in a challenging policing area, responding to almost 1 million calls for service per year. During a recent survey from officers who have transferred to Merseyside, they have told us that “we use a modern style of policing” and “they moved to be part of the culture of Merseyside Police as the way we do things lowers demand on response and is something all forces should be looking to move to".

If you are looking for opportunities to further develop your career in a forward thinking, modern Police Force, with an inclusive culture, please find out more about us and apply using the link below.

Our Force Strategy

We are driven by the current Force Strategy 2020-25 and passionately believe that Community First is absolutely the right thing for our communities, for our partners and for Merseyside Police.

We are committed to preventing crime and anti-social behaviour, through our developing approach to preventative policing, in order that we reduce the number of victims particularly for those crimes that cause high harm. We are evolving our approach with the PCC to supporting victims of crime and we are dedicated to bringing more offenders to justice, whilst building in diversionary and preventative approaches. For further information about our new Prevention strand and why we are passionate about this, please visit our Prevention section on our website.

The opportunity to develop your career with us

We are looking for talented officers who have the drive and energy to support the force in providing a policing service that puts our communities at the heart of everything we do. The candidates will be active in their commitment to building a diverse and inclusive force that is representative of our communities. We have recently introduced a new leadership framework that outlines the expected values, behaviours and culture within our Force.
