PDS pair commended for ‘outstanding’ work on Police National Computer

Two members of the Police Digital Service (PDS) have been commended for their “outstanding contributions” to the Police National Computer (PNC).

Manjit Chodha and Sarah Tuck both received commendations praising their “outstanding contribution and an unwavering standard of excellence in the provision of the PNC. The National Police Chiefs’ Council and Home Office commend you for your dedication, commitment, and professionalism, in delivering for UK police services, the Home Office , and wider law enforcement agencies”.

The commendations were made at a Home Office Awards Ceremony in London to celebrate 50 years of the PNC.

PDS’s cyber team has been working with the PNC to provide assurance across the Cyber Secure by design and audit, risk and compliance teams.

The event was enjoyed by 200 attendees, including senior representatives from the Home Office, police forces, and PNC partners.

Simon Bourne (Chief Data Officer), Gordon Grace, Katie Gardner (PPPT Director), Jaee Samant (Director General) and DCC Naveed Malik were in attendance to give speeches and present awards.

Ian Bell, chief executive officer of PDS said: “Congratulations to both Manjit and Sarah for the excellent work and for building and maintaining strong, respected relationships.

“Our mission at PDS is to provide a centre of expertise to design, create and deliver national digital and information systems for UK law enforcement, efficiently and effectively, meeting operational and strategic objectives. It is thanks to hard working colleagues like Manjit and Sarah that we are able to deliver outstanding work for the benefit of policing in the UK.”
