Teenage girl dies following e-scooter collision

A 14-year-old girl has died after her e-scooter collided with a van in East London on Monday afternoon (March 21).

A statement issued by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) said that officers had been called to Green Street in Newham at approximately 13:35hrs following reports of a van in collision with an e-scooter.

The teenage rider of the vehicle was treated at the scene but died from her injuries. The driver of the van is assisting police with their investigation but has not been arrested.

Road closures are in place around the scene.
