Police Scotland wins coveted ‘veterans’ award
Police Scotland won Employer of the Year award at the 2026 Scottish Veterans Awards ceremony.
The force was shortlisted in the category thanks to the work of its Veterans Champions Network, Stef Grzybowski and his involvement with the Armed Forces and Police Scotland’s employed veterans.
Chief Superintendent Conrad Trickett accepted the award in his capacity as chair of the Veterans Champions Network. He thanked the Network and Police Scotland’s veterans for the work they do and the value they add to public service.
He said: “It was a great honour to receive the Employer of the Year award on behalf of Police Scotland.
“It represents the organisation’s commitment to supporting our veterans and celebrating the added value they bring to policing.
“The award showcases the passion and commitment of our Veterans Champions Network whose work is instrumental in receiving this accolade.”
Employer of the Year Award was strongly contended with nominations from businesses across Scotland.
The awards ceremony took place at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, and was attended by business leaders, senior military personnel and Scottish Veterans Commissioner Susie Hamilton.
