Moynul Alom, attached to the North East Command of the Metropolitan Police Service, was found guilty of gross misconduct on Tuesday (November 13).

It was alleged Mr Alom had given a false account of an incident which occurred at Westfield Stratford shopping centre in May last year, where he tried to take a bag containing headphones from a member of public.

He then attempted slap, punch or strike the member of public, and produced his warrant for which he had no proper policing purpose.

The hearing concluded that he breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity, discreditable conduct and authority, respect and courtesy and was dismissed without notice.

The panel found all allegations proven as gross misconduct and Mr Alom was dismissed without notice.
