MPS officer denies causing death by careless driving

An officer from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing death by careless driving, following an appearance at the Old Bailey.

Police Constable Daniel Bowen faces the charge in connection with an incident in July 2028 when a police van collided with an 83-year-old Peter Dawes in East Ham, East London. Mr Dawes later died in hospital.

PC Bowen will stand trial in December.
