MPS officer charged with rape
An officer from the Metropolitan Police Service is due to appear in court charged with two counts of rape and one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Inspector Jason Wu, attached to MPS Detention and based at Colindale, will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 29 July.
The charges relate to offences against a woman in August 2019 and October 2021. Allegations were first reported in June 2022 and an investigation was launched by Met detectives working in public protection.
Following further enquiries, the case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service which authorised charges. A postal charge and requisition was served on Friday, 15 May 2026.
Insp Wu is currently suspended from duty.
