Man shot dead by armed officers in Birmingham
A man has been shot dead by firearms officers in Birmingham during what West Midlands Police described as an “intelligence-led operation”.

The shooting took place at Wheeleys Lane in the Lee Bank district of the city just before 5am Friday morning (March 15).
A force spokesperson said: “A man, in his fifties, was shot and died a short time later at the scene.”
The area has been cordoned-off while investigations continue and the case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
