FLIR Systems has unveiled two new camera ranges, the FC-Series S network-ready, fixed-mount camera (right) and the D-Series multi-sensor thermal security camera in a compact, networked, outdoor dome enclosure.

The compact FC-Series S has been designed to bring the cost of thermal imaging cameras closer to that of standard CCTV cameras.

Both cameras deliver high contrast thermal images in diverse conditions, even when the sun is in the field of view or there are cold and low contrast scenes, making them ideal for video analytics that need properly contrasted images to avoid false alarms.

They are available in 320 × 240 and high-resolution 640 × 480 formats, with a range of lenses, including longer models with a narrower field of view allowing intruders to be spotted at a greater distance.

Multiple channels of streaming digital video are available in H.264, MPEG-4 or M-JPEG formats on both cameras and simultaneous digital and composite video output is standard.
