With the massive growth in operator controlled CCTV cameras, Electrone Europe is launching a fully-programmable control pad designed for CCTV systems.
The Electrone System200 enables remote operators to control multiple cameras using a basic PC and Internet or network connection. It also offers a migration path from legacy (analogue) environments to new digital or mixed environments, removing the need to re-train operators.
Originally released in the North and South American security markets, the Electrone System200 is equipped with a triple-axis joystick which allows the operator to pan, tilt and zoom remote motorised cameras. The modular design allows for up to 50 programmable buttons each capable of controlling or operating a separate action or activity.
CCTV hardware and software provider Sirrus Technologies is partnering with Electrone to roll-out the device.
Mike Buchanan, head of marketing of Electrone Europe, said: By designing the System200 with a large amount of programmable keys, the system can interact with new PCs and old CCTV applications to control the cameras in a way that mimics old analogue processes. Customers can set up the device to emulate their old legacy environments and control room operators will not have to adjust their working practices.
The control pad has been successfully used by regional police forces in North and South America where officers have used the System200 to monitor traffic offenders and criminals on the road.
The systems graphic LCD is also capable of displaying any language including Arabic, Chinese and Urdu. This allows bi-directional communication and specific commands to be issued direct to the operator without interrupting what is displayed on any monitor.
