An invention that revolutionises the way police and intelligence agencies combat hi-tech crime has won the Business Innovation Award.

Remote Forensics can probe hard drives and other digital media anywhere in the world, enabling crime fighters to target criminals within minutes of an offence being reported.

Developed by forensic computing consultancy Evidence Talks, the system uses a totally secure virtual private network to take an evidentially sound copy of the suspect media, and allows forensic analysis to examine the data in real time from any location that has a network or 3G mobile phone connection.
