The Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) has awarded Cable & Wireless the Framework Arrangement for the new Police National Network (PNN3), with the technical assurance support provided by Mason Communications.

The PNN3 service will provide a cornerstone for underpinning police modernisation providing secure communications between police forces via the Criminal Justice Extranet (CJX). It will also maintain access to the Police National Computer (PNC), and enhance interoperability between forces.

The PNN3 Framework Arrangement offers a portfolio of secure voice, data, video, mobile data access, network security, hosting, and Internet services to the police, and wider criminal justice community. These services offer PNN users increased functionality, service features and greater flexible bandwidth services in addition to those services currently provided under the previous PNN2 Framework Arrangement.
