Morrow gunman jailed
A man has been convictedof the attempted murder of Met officer PC Liam Morrow.

Zartash Khan, aged 20, was sentenced to 22-years for the attempted murder and also convicted and sentenced to 15 years for possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life. The sentences will run concurrently.
The incident happened on December 20, 2004, when officers were called to Medeira Avenue, Bromley, after reports of four men acting suspiciously in a car. Five unarmed officers, all wearing body armour, arrived in marked police cars. As they got out the suspects started to run from their vehicle. At least two of them, including Khan, were in possession of firearms which they fired at PC Morrow, hitting him in the legs. PC Morrow was taken by ambulance to Lewisham hospital. No other officers were injured.
The investigation was conducted by officers from Trident & Trafalgar under DI Nick Linfoot.
DI Linfoot said: These men showed a callous disregard for human life. PC Morrow and his colleagues were simply engaged in their daily work, keeping Bromley safe and upholding the law.
Trident & Trafalgar officers are committed to reducing gun crime and making the streets of London safer for all who live, work and visit.
Supt Charlie Griggs from Bromley Police said: Todays verdict demonstrates the Mets resolve to bring to justice men who bring gun-related violence to our streets.
To shoot an unarmed police officer in these circumstances showed scant regard for human life.
PC Morrow spent two days in hospital being treated for his wounds following the attack but recovered speedily according to the Met.
