Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe has launched the process to find the next Chief Constable for Warwickshire Police.
He is looking for an individual with exceptional leadership skills, a public-facing approach and a commitment to community engagement, who is adept at fostering strong collaborations with our partners.
It follows the decision of the previous Chief Constable, Alex Franklin-Smith, to step away from policing for a career in the private sector.
Mr Seccombe said: “The Chief Constable role is a pivotal role for policing and for local communities. We are operating in an environment of significant change. Locally, we are awaiting the outcome of local government reform and the impact this may have on some of our key partners. Nationally, the future structure of policing across England and Wales continues to evolve. It is therefore essential we find the right person who can lead Warwickshire Police forward over the next few years.
“The successful candidate will provide confident and visible leadership during this time, whilst remaining focused on effective and ethical policing. Through their commitment to the force, its people and the communities it serves, they will bring energy and enthusiasm to propel Warwickshire Police to the next level of excellence.
“With the opportunity to deliver the best outcomes for residents, their leadership of this dynamic force will help ensure a safer Warwickshire for all.”
Applications are being sought from all suitably qualified candidates, particularly those from under-represented groups.
The closing deadline for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 27 May.
Once selected, the preferred candidate, together with the Police and Crime Commissioner, will be required to attend a public Confirmation Hearing before the Warwickshire Police and Crime Panel, at a date to be confirmed.
