A firearms officer has been sacked after testing positive for Class A and B drugs. A ‘with cause’ drug test last October found Police Constable Christopher Hall had taken ecstasy and amphetamine – otherwise known as ‘speed’. The officer, attached to the Metropolitan Police Service’s (MPS) Specialist Firearms Command, attended a misconduct hearing on Wednesday (May 24) for allegations of discreditable conduct and fitness for duty. The allegations were proven and PC Hall was found guilty of gross misconduct. A MPS spokesperson said: “The chair determined that the only appropriate sanction was dismissal without notice.”
