On May 30, Police Constable Dipesh Mistry, attached to the South West Command Unit, was dismissed without notice after a panel found that he had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘discreditable conduct’. The misconduct related to his arrest by police in Germany in September 2017 following an allegation of assault at Oktoberfest in Munich.

The following day, Police Constable Romulus Coita, attached to the South Area Command Unit, was dismissed following a special case hearing. He was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘discreditable conduct’, ‘honesty and integrity’ and ‘orders and instructions’.

The hearing heard how in October 2018 PC Coita was arrested for a domestic assault. Following his arrest he failed to abide by the condition of his police bail. In the ensuing investigation it also came to light that PC Coita had made a false declaration in relation to his criminal history when he joined the MPS.

That same day Police Constable Benito Navarro, based at the MPS’s South East Command Unit, was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘discreditable conduct’ and dismissed without notice.

Earlier this year PC Navarro pleaded guilty to Actual Bodily Harm at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in relation to an incident in which the officer was alleged to have assaulted a member of the public in November 2017.
