A 20-year-old woman from Hagley in the West Midlands has been given a two-year anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) by Birmingham Magistrates after requesting one herself.

Tania Hall was given the order last month, which prevents her from entering certain roads in the Erdington of Birmingham.

Over the last seven years, Ms Hall has committed 12 offences of shoplifting.

“We believe this is the first time in the country that an individual has requested an ASBO for themselves,” said Inspector Nicholas Rowe.

“Ms Hall wanted to curb her own offending behaviour and have measures in place to prevent her from entering areas where she offends. We hope the order will help her to steer clear of crime.”
