Three further rape charges against serving MPS officer
The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised three additional charges of rape against Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) officer David Carrick.
The new charges relate to one new complainant and are alleged to have taken place between 2008 and 2009.
They are in addition to 41 offences Mr Carrick, who is based with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, was charged with previously against 11 separate women. He now faces a total of 44 offences against 12 women between 2003 and 2020, including:
- 21 counts of rape;
- Nine counts of sexual assault;
- Five counts of assault by penetration;
- Three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour;
- Two counts of false imprisonment;
- Two counts of attempted rape;
- One count of attempted sexual assault by penetration; and
- One count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent;
Mr Carrick, 47, will make his first court appearance in relation to the new charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court at 10am on May 13. He is listed to appear for a case management hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on May 27.
