Chief Constable Graham Power of Jersey Police will be retiring in August.

Mr Power, 63, was suspended in 2008 over allegations regarding his handling of the Haute de la Garenne ‘Historic Abuse Enquiry’.

He is awaiting the outcome of a review of disciplinary procedures, but this could be stopped once he has retired.

Mr Power joined the police in 1966 and became Jersey’s chief constable in 2000 on a five-year contract, which was extended twice.
