SunGard have been awarded the contract to supply managed services to the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) that will enable the SFO to investigate cases and bring them to a conclusion as quickly as possible. The new contract will also allow the SFO to prosecute cases fairly and in a way that helps juries to understand the complex issues of fraud cases.

The contract with the SFO also encompasses ICT support for the Attorney General and his office. A key factor in the SFO’s choice of SunGard was the flexibility, innovation and responsiveness demonstrated by SunGard’s staff. SunGard has also provided the SFO with a bespoke ICT Managed Services solution that helps make best use of the SFO’s existing investment in tools.

The SunGard ICT Managed Services solution encompasses the support and management of the full ICT infrastructure including on-site service desk, desktop services, support of case work applications and support of the communications network and infrastructure for the Serious Fraud Office and Attorney General’s Office.

Bob Evans, head of resources and planning for the Serious Fraud Office, commented: “We are pleased to be forming this new partnership with SunGard. The Serious Fraud Office requires a high quality and highly reliable IT network to support its activities and we are confident that SunGard are well placed to provide this support. We have been impressed by the quality of SunGard’s staff and by their well organised approach to taking over the service.”
