Suella Braverman re-appointed Home Secretary just six days after resigning her post
Suella Braverman is back as Home Secretary, just six days after she resigned for a “technical infringement” of ministerial rules by sending an official document from her personal email.
Her exit made her the shortest-serving Home Secretary in modern political history.
Downing Street confirmed on Tuesday (October 25) that Ms Braverman will replace Grant Shapps as Home Secretary in new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government.
Mr Shapps was appointed less than a week ago following Ms Braverman’s resignation after she admitted sending an official document from her personal email to “a trusted parliamentary colleague”.
She admitted this constituted “a technical infringement of the rules” and she had “made a mistake”.
Mr Shapps has been appointed Business Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Cabinet reshuffle.
