It was one of the most memorable moments from an extraordinary night. But Police Constable Paul Taylor isn’t even sure what he was dancing to as he jigged with schoolchildren at the One Love concert in Manchester. Footage of the officer from the BBC televised event on Sunday (June 4) went viral after he was spotted joining in with delighted concert-goers as US singer Ariana Grande was joined by a host of music celebrities to mark the tragic events at the Manchester Arena. Ten children and teenagers were among the 22 victims of suicide bomber Salman Abedi`s atrocity which also claimed the life of off-duty Detective Constable Elaine McIver from Cheshire Constabulary. PC Taylor was one of around 50 Durham Constabulary officers sent to assist colleagues at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) as part of the mutual aid arrangements between forces. The officer, who is usually stationed at Darlington and has 20 years service, says he was just delighted to be there. He said: “I had posed for a picture with these two young girls who were with their mum, and they asked if I’d like to dance. “I can’t remember what was playing at the time, I think it may have been Justin Bieber. “Since the clip went viral, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing.” With his colleagues, he got back to the north east at 3.30am on Monday (June 5) for some well-earned rest – only to learn he was trending on social media. He said: “It was an amazing experience and it made such a change to have people coming up to us saying they were glad we were there and how reassured they felt. “We were just there to play our part helping our GMP colleagues after such an enormous and tragic event.” On the force`s Facebook page, people were quick to praise him. One person said he was a “credit to his profession”, while another commented “This one clip on the TV made me night. Was such a lovely moment to watch! Well done to Paul!” An Ariana Grande song rang out at the funeral of Manchester victim Eilidh MacLeod as loved ones paid tribute to the “gifted and beautiful” teen. Eilidh, 14, had gone to the original concert on May 22 with friend Laura MacIntyre, who is among the 119 people injured at the terror incident. Her funeral was the first of the Manchester victims to be held and took place at Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Castlebay, on Monday (June 5).
