Officer charged with misconduct over sexual relationship
A West Midlands police officer is due in court over allegations he skipped work to pursue a sexual relationship.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) began investigating Police Constable Colin Noble following a referral from West Midlands Police in August 2017.
The IOPC said PC Noble was neglecting legitimate police work in an attempt to pursue a sexual relationship with a complainant.
The investigation completed in April this year, and the IOPC provided a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, which authorised charges of misconduct.
He will make his first appearance before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (July 31).
