Officer admits making child abuse images

A police inspector has pleaded guilty to both the making and distribution of indecent images of children

Inspector Lee Bartram was arrested on Monday (August 13) and charged on Wednesday (August 15).  

The 44-year-old was charged with five counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child and two counts of distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child. 

He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on September 13 for sentencing.  

Insp Bartram has consequently been suspended from West Midlands Police while the criminal proceedings continue. 

The force confirmed it has made a voluntary referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
