New ACC appointments in West Yorkshire Police

Two new assistant chief constables have been announced at West Yorkshire Police WYP).

Two new assistant chief constables have been announced at West Yorkshire Police WYP). Angela Williams, force lead for district policing, has been promoted internally having served with WYP for 24 years – most recently as temporary ACC. Ms Williams will soon be joined by Catherine Hankinson, currently a temporary ACC in Greater Manchester Police, who will join WYP when a vacancy arises in May. Ms Hankinson is a strategic firearms commander and Multi-Agency Gold Incident Commander, and is responsible for public contact, specialist operations and intelligence. Announcing the appointments, WYP Chief Constable Dee Collins said: “I am delighted to have Angela and Catherine on the chief officer team, to support delivery of the police and crime plan, which focuses on keeping our communities safer and feeling safer.” Police and crime commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson said: “I welcome these appointments and look forward to working with Angela and Catherine and wider chief officer team to deliver on the outcomes in the police and crime plan.”
