Police Constable Shareen Kashif, 29, is accused of allowing her building society accounts to be used for cash deposits she knew or suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

She is also accused of hiding cash.

Her offending is said to involve a sum of around £20,000.

Kashif, of the Met’s central east command unit, did not enter any pleas to the charges when she appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for a brief hearing.

She was released on bail until her next appearance, at Southwark Crown Court on June 9.

Kashif was suspended from duty by Scotland Yard following her arrest in July last year.
