MPS officer injured after police vehicle is rammed

An officer from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has been injured after attempting to stop a vehicle in Brent, north London.

According to a statement issued by the force, the incident occurred shortly after 4.10pm today (November 6), when a police vehicle attempted to stop an Alfa Romeo being driven by a man suspected of driving while disqualified.

The vehicle eventually stopped at a road in Wembley, but then reversed along the pavement and collided with the police vehicle. As a result, a female police officer, who was getting out of the car, suffered leg and neck injuries.

The car was then drove away.

The police officer was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue to locate the Alfa Romeo and the driver.
