Ministers reappoint Mark Hoble to police remuneration review bodies
Ministers have approved the reappointment of Mark Hoble to the board of the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) and National Crime Agency Remuneration Review Body (NCARRB).
He will now serve a second term of three years, from March 2023 to March 2026.
As a member of the PRRB, Mr Hoble is responsible for providing independent recommendations to the Home Secretary and the Northern Ireland Minister of Justice on pay, allowances and conditions for police officers at or below the rank of chief superintendent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In its latest submission of evidence to the PRRB, the National Police Chiefs’ Council called for a fair pay deal for officers reflecting their “unique contribution to society, the limitations on them and the real terms pay cut over the past decade”.
His responsibilities for the NCARRB include making recommendations on the pay and allowances of National Crime Agency (NCA) officers designated with operational powers; considering written evidence from the Home Office, the NCA, trade unions and other interested parties; conducting research on pay and related matters; and visiting the NCA to meet NCA officers with operational powers and management to gather information and views on pay and related issues.
Mr Hoble is a former partner at Mercer, one of the world’s leading management consulting firms.
He sits as a magistrate in London and holds a BA (Hons) degree in economics from the University of Nottingham as well as an MBA from London Business School. Mr Hoble is also a member of the London Advisory Committee (Ministry of Justice).
