Kinetic Special Vehicles’ own mobile exhibition unit is aimed at demonstrating the company’s expertise in building and fitting out high-quality vehicles for the welfare and emergency services markets.

Based on a Fiat Ducato, the new vehicle includes a specially-designed ‘welfare module’ with an integral Clarks ‘On Demand’ system centred on Webasto’s Thermo Top C high-temperature diesel-powered hot water and interior heater.

Besides producing a comfortable interior temperature in the harshest weather conditions, enabling mobile work teams to warm up and dry wet clothing, the Webasto system also produces two types of hot water for both washing and drinking, all without the need to run the engine.

The new vehicle debuted at the Police Fleet Managers Conference and Exhibition in Peterborough late last year. The company specialises in the production of bespoke vehicles for the emergency services, prison service and many other authorities requiring secure and discreet vehicles. In addition, Kinetic supplies commercial vehicles to the cash-in-transit and utility vehicle markets.
Speaking of the decision to specify the Webasto heating system, Mark Catley, Kinetic Special Vehicles’ sales and marketing director, said: “This vehicle gives us the opportunity to demonstrate a wide variety of features and systems, including its warm and welcoming interior to our customers and this is an invaluable sales tool. We shall be using the exhibition vehicle at all the future events we attend.”

Established in 1946, Kinetic Special Vehicles now operates from a six-acre site in Beverley, East Yorkshire. The company has recently built a new 12,000sq ft workshop to complement its existing 40,000sq ft of manufacturing space. The exhibition vehicle will be on display at a number of shows during 2011.

Webasto Product UK will be exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC Birmingham from April 12-14.
