Following a two-day selection process, a panel chaired by Chief Constable Paul Anderson unanimously approved the appointment.

Humberside Police said the selection process involved a media exercise and a meeting with a panel made up of members of force staff associations, followed by a presentation and interview process.

Mr Marshall will officially take up his role with immediate effect.

Mr Anderson, who took over as chief constable at the beginning of this month having previously served as the deputy chief constable, said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce Dave Marshall as our newly-appointed deputy chief constable.

“Dave has been with the force since January 2022 and has now renewed his commitment to the communities here in Humberside. I very much look forward to continuing to work with him”.

Mr Marshall started his career at West Yorkshire Police before moving into a variety of leadership roles at Norfolk Constabulary.
