A conference organised by C5 Business Information on fraud and asset recovery cases will aim to provide an up-to-the-minute, in-depth understanding of the legal developments, tactics and strategies that will result in the successful tracing and recapture of assets.

This 11th annual forum will consist of an international panel of experts – including luminaries from the leading law firms, forensic accountancies and those authorities engaged and involved in the regulation and investigation of fraudulent activity.

Conference highlights include:

  • Recent developments and current themes in the area of freezing injunctions, search and disclosure orders.
  • Practicalities and legalities involved in witness preparation, including mock cross-examinations.
  • Proprietary remedies in commercial fraud.
  • Insolvency procedures and how they can be used successfully to recover assets and the proceeds of fraud.
  • The alternative remedies you can use to successfully bring proceedings against offshore trustees – SOCA and the SFO on their key priorities for the coming year.
  • Use and application of technology in fraud investigations: what you should know.
  • Money Laundering: have we solved the problem?

There will also be a post-conference master class on using software, databases and digital information to find hidden assets. Led by expert practitioners, the workshop will highlight the latest technology and outline the key considerations involved in the asset tracing process.

Experts in the master class will give guidance including:

  • Tools for asset tracing and time lining.
  • Large data sets that can be mined for valuable information.
  • Advanced data analysis tools and software to uncover unknown or hidden relationships.

Methods for gaining access to guarded information through social engineering techniques.
