Former MPA chief executive dies
The former chief executive of the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA), Catherine Crawford, has died.
The former chief executive of the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA), Catherine Crawford, has died.
Ms Crawford, who also served as a member of the British Transport Police Authority, passed away on Friday March 20, after being diagnosed with a serious illness late last year.
She led the MPA from 2000 until it was taken over by the MayorÂ’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) in 2011. She was then chief executive of MOPAC until 2012 and previously worked as a civil servant at the Home Office.
Ms Crawford was appointed as an Independent Trustee of the Internet Watch Foundation in September 2013 and is a trustee for the Police Foundation. She received an OBE for services to policing in 2010.
