Ego protection units anyone? April 9

The chief was a bit surprised to be invited to Ten Downing Street this week, for an audience with the PM and Home Secretary, celebrating one year of neighbourhood policing and delivering the Policing Pledge on time. I warned him that the pledge was supposed to be implemented last December, just in case he put his foot in it.
He didn’t hesitate to attend, despite the stretch of reality needed to meet deadlines. The next thing you know, he’ll be joining a working men’s club.
He set off for London with dress uniform and the phrase ‘We could have done G20 with half the mutual assistance,’ ready for use just in case Sir Paul Stephenson attended.
I told him he shouldn’t have taken the uniform, he could have bought one from the protesters; he probably would have got one that fits. The Dep teased that he wouldn’t get much money in London for his old one, it doesn’t look legit.
The protection squads at G20 were stretched I hear, and even plain clothed officers were scared of Obama’s personal guards. If it wasn’t for the promise of free tickets to watch AC Milan, Berlusconi would not have been protected at all, after he continued to be really annoying and asked to try a uniformed officer’s helmet on.
Apparently, all the leaders argued over who should arrive before or after Obama, the protestors were a piece of cake to police compared to the egos of twenty or more world leaders.
I am glad that we didn’t get the summit to worry about, we have had huge problems getting our headquarters’ security gate to work. I can’t imagine the years we would need to organise something like that.
Perhaps someone in North Wales can enlighten me, has Richard Brunstrom taken on a new role as steward at the Australian Grand Prix? With Lewis Hamilton allegedly lying about his dangerous driving, he has had the book thrown at him. Could have only been RB.
I’ll get back to policy documents for neighbourhood policing teams, they are testing enough for me. Paragraph 226. It is not good for PCSOs to be seen spending resources on nicotine patches, try alternative intervention tactics. What will Sussex spend their DIP money on next?

Yours as ever,
Stitch
