Criminal cash seizure
Large amounts of cash were recovered after nine people were intercepted by sniffer dogs at Leeds Bradford Airport in a regional operation to strip criminals of their assets.

West Yorkshire Police worked with the North East Regional Asset Recovery Team, the British Transport Police and Customs and Excise to route out individuals carrying substantial amounts of concealed cash.
Leeds Railway station was also targeted, as part of the drive to recover illegal assets.
The operation is part of a recently launched national campaign called Payback, which confiscates assets gained through illegal activity.
Police and partner agencies were given enhanced powers to conduct seizures by the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 which came into effect last year.
