The annual Climate Camp, which protests against global warming, has confirmed that it will return to London over the August bank holiday this year.
Activists from the group vowed to return to the capital for the summer protest, despite the events that occurred in April as part of the G20 protests.
They will stay in London for a week-long camp, beginning on August 27.
The group was involved in the G20 protests, which saw the police heavily criticised after the event led to the death of one man and left many others injured.
The climate protests in April focused on the European Climate Exchange in Bishopsgate, the centre of carbon trading in the UK.
The August protest will be against the financial and political obstacles preventing effective action on climate change.
Campaigners have also said that they will use the event as a training ground for a new generation of climate campaigners, who will hopefully take direct action in the run-up to international talks aimed at securing a new deal on cutting emissions in Copenhagen this December.
The groups website tells campers to arrive in the capital a day before the event to be ready for action.
It also warns not to bring pen-knives into the camp, as the police love to find a couple so they can go on TV and spread scare stories about Climate Campers.
Climate Camper Ben Sutton said: Climate Camp 2009 focuses on London as the centre of the economic and political systems that have created financial meltdown and climate chaos.
The camp will challenge false solutions to climate change, such as carbon trading and offsetting, which allow unsustainable emissions and detract from focusing on real solutions.
