A cash machine in Gloucestershire has been discovered to have a sophisticated device that clones debit and credit cards.

Thought to be the first of its kind, the device completely covers the face of the cash machine making it look completely legitimate to unsuspecting users.

Detective Sergeant Wayne Usher told the BBC: “This was a very clever device fitting over almost the full fascia of the cash machine. It used sophisticated technology to record the PIN numbers as they were being typed in.”

The device was discovered when an engineer was called to repair a faulty machine in the Cheltenham area.
