Officers have uncovered a “cannabis jungle” with a suspected street price that is a potential seven times the value of the property.
The drugs raid by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) found 250 cannabis plants in a south-west London house with an estimated value of nearly £1 million.
Officers in Kingston carried out the search on the property in Surbiton on Wednesday morning (August 24).
On entry to the house on Tolworth Rise North, they found four rooms packed with equipment and the Class B drug.
According to property information website Zoopla, flats and houses in the street currently range in value from £144,000.
Video posted online shows the moment officers discovered the plants being grown under artificial lighting. Kingston Police tweeted: “Looks like we found a #CannabisJungle today… Done some sums, potential £1,000,000 street value.”
No arrests have been made.
Police Constable Sebastian Ellis said “great team work” had helped remove a “huge amount of cannabis out of the supply chain”.
