Capita has acquired Southampton-based Call Vision Technologies, a voice and data solutions specialist for the emergency services and other critical response organisations.

According to Capita, the acquisition provides it with a “wide range of telephony-centric products for the emergency services and contact management marketplace”.

Additionally, it provides Capita with the capability to deploy Cisco telephony for emergency call taking in the UK and overseas markets.

Paul Eggleton, managing director, Capita Secure Solutions and Services, said: “Emergency service control rooms need to have the very best software solutions available to ensure that they can provide an effective and efficient emergency response to the general public. The incorporation of this acquisition into our existing control room business will enhance our overall offering and expand the reach of our products into new markets.”

Call Vision Technologies’ software is used across many ambulance control rooms in the UK. It provides advanced functionality to call handlers, including touchscreen technology and instant messaging.

The two companies have previously worked together, with Call Vision Technologies’ software already integrated into a wide range of Capita‘s products in the police, fire and ambulance markets.
