Cambridgeshire county council has agreed a framework deal with Virgin Media Business for a range of communication services across the county, including network management and support, telecommunications networks and equipment, wireless infrastructure and internet services, plus helpdesk and support services.

According to a contract award notice in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), the framework will be open to other councils, the NHS and emergency and community services across the county, including Cambridgeshire Police Authority.

The OJEU notice says the lowest expected value of the contract is £20 million, but this could rise to £70 million.
