Nottinghamshire`s Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) Sue Fish has been appointed the force`s new Deputy Chief Constable (DCC).
Mrs Fish will replace DCC Paul Scarrott when he retires from the police service in June.
She said: “I`m very proud, excited and humbled to be given this opportunity. I`ve spent much of my service in Nottinghamshire and am absolutely committed to its success and it will be a real privilege to serve as the force`s deputy chief constable.
Chief Constable Chris Eyre stated: “I am thrilled for Sue. Her experience, both here and recently on secondment with ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) and the MPS (Metropolitan Police Service), will allow her to build on the work that Paul Scarrott has been doing.
Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping also congratulated Mrs Fish on her appointment: “The force is increasingly becoming a success story and I`m looking forward to Sue playing her part as DCC to ensure that success is built upon.”
