Multiple police forces worldwide and all police forces in the UK are using SPSS (NASDAQ: SPSS) predictive analytics to optimise deployment of officers, saving the forces time and money while ensuring public safety.

In such cities as Atlanta and Richmond in the US, law enforcement officials are harnessing SPSS technologies to identify key patterns in crime data such as incident reports, crime tips, and calls for police assistance to make effective officer-deployment decisions.

In the UK, responsibility for
delivering crime reduction and public safety initiatives, at both strategic and tactical levels, falls to the police and to local authority personnel.

In Oldham, a town near Manchester, the local government authority and the police formed a strategic partnership with SPSS to integrate data collection with traditional surveys and analysis methods to help deploy community safety platforms.
