Genetec, specialists in IP video surveillance, has released an IP-based licence plate recognition (LPR) appliance which delivers advanced digital video processing and numberplate.

The AutoVu Sharp can be used for both fixed and mobile installations.

It automatically reads plates of parked vehicles or vehicles travelling at speeds up to 140mph. The device also has the ability to read licence plates spanning two lanes of traffic and is available in a variety of configurations, depending on the specific needs of each application.
