The father of the victim of paedophile Craig Sweeney has called on police to name six sex monsters they admit to ‘losing’ in Wales.

Sex offenders can vanish because of a legal loophole that lets them give vague addresses like ‘the woods’. But police refuse to say who the sick six offenders are and have refused to give details of their crimes.

The 37-year-old father, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said: “When people are missing, they should put out a photo, they should make it public. They should issue a photo, age, description, last location known and everything, because people have the right to know if these people are walking the streets. Kids’ safety is at risk.”

Sweeney, 24, was jailed for life for kidnapping a girl, aged three, from her home in Cardiff in

January 2006 before attacking her. At the time of the attack he was on early release from prison for another crime involving the indecent assault of a six-year-old girl.

The father added: “People go on about human rights but it’s a child’s human right to be kept safe. That is the most important human right. It seems these sex offenders get more human rights and protection than anyone else. The system is wrong.”

North Wales Police said it was searching Britain and the globe for the four who have disappeared from its area.

South Wales Police, which has lost two offenders, said: “The public can be assured that officers are working with Interpol, intelligence agencies and other forces across the UK to trace and arrest these people.”
