Memex Technology has joined the ESRI (UK) Developer Network Programme (EDN), run by the provider of enterprise Geographic Information (GIS) in the UK. The Developer Network has enabled Memex to successfully integrate ESRI GIS software into its flagship Intelligence Manager, an operational tool that allows powerful data storage, search, retrieval and analysis for international law enforcement, defence intelligence and commercial fraud organisations.
Through its membership to the EDN programme, Memex has access to ESRI (UK)s entire library of industry leading developer GIS software. Memexs intelligence software solutions are already operated by law enforcement agencies across the world and the integration of GIS software will provide greater search and analysis capabilities.
With advanced location based information from geographical based searches, the GIS element will enable users of Memexs Intelligence Manager, to more easily search for common histories of crime at a specific location. It will also enable data from the traditional police notebook to be transferred onto the system and onto a map for further analysis of location based themes in crime.
Tom Duke, development manager of Memex commented: Joining the EDN programme was the easiest way of integrating GIS into our own software solutions. We felt confident that ESRI (UK) was able to provide us with the most advanced GIS solutions on the market and its technical staff have given us expert advice and support throughout the project. The EDN programme has worked out even better than we had originally hoped for, by keeping inside budget and ensuring a quick implementation process.
Geoff Tenant, partner manager of ESRI (UK) comments: We are delighted that Memex has joined our EDN programme, being a world leader in Intelligence software. Memex has a strong market presence in law enforcement communities across the world and the integration of GIS technology into its software will further enhance its powerful Intelligence Manager solution.
