Second police fatal accident at 23.45 on 26/11
Tayside Police are to investigate a crash in Irvine involving a Strathclyde police van, in which a husband and pregnant wife died. This is the second fatal accident involving a police vehicle to occur at the same time on Saturday.

Tayside Police are to investigate a crash in Kilmarnock involving a Strathclyde police van, in which a husband and pregnant wife died.
The accident happened at 23.45 on Saturday night on Towerlands Road, East Broomlands, Irvine.
The couple were named as Duncan Scott and his wife Lisa who was eight months pregnant. Doctors delivered a daughter by emergency caesarean, but she died yesterday.
Mrs Scott was driving their Ford Fiesta when police say it was involved in a collision with a police van. The van did not have its sirens or emergency lights on at the time.
A police spokesman said the accident will be investigated by an outside force, Tayside Police and “A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash will be carried out and a report sent to the procurator fiscal.”
This is the second fatal accident to occur at the same time on Saturday involving police vehicles. The first reported on this site occurred in Gwent involving a South Wales police vehicle.
