Fed rewards South Yorkshire Pcs
Two officers from South Yorkshire have been voted the bravest officers in England and Wales at the tenth annual Police Bravery Awards, sponsored by The Sun newspaper.

PCs Gareth Gent and Liam Wood were chosen for the award, organised by the Police Federation, after tackling a gunman who had just shot a man twice before their eyes.
The unarmed officers lunged at the gunman and wrestled the firearm from him, before having to restrain the gunshot victim who despite two wounds to his abdomen got to his feet and started assaulting his attacker.
The incident took place early in the morning on July 30 last year in Doncaster.
Jan Berry, Chairman of the Police Federation which organises the Police Bravery Awards, said: Constables Gent and Wood were remarkably brave. They put their own lives at risk to disarm a vicious gunman who had just shot someone before their eyes. They are worthy winners and a credit to the police service.
The pair received their award at a swanky party at the Dorchester in London, attended by Home Secretary Charles Clark.
PC Gent and PC Wood also met the Prime Minister, along with 57 other bravery nominees at a reception at Downing Street last month.
