A police officer has been dismissed for sending indecent images of himself while on uniformed duty. Police Constable David Causier admitted sending the pictures to an unknown woman over a three-year period. The Cleveland Police officer said he was embarrassed by his totally unacceptable behaviour at a misconduct hearing on Thursday (April 27). PC Causier sent indecent pictures of himself on December 27 and 28, 2014, then again on April 26 and December 18, 2015, the trial heard. He also forwarded a pornographic image to a woman on December 29, 2014. PC Causier served with Cleveland Police for 14 years, and had as many misconduct breaches against him. Speaking at the hearing, he said he apologises for the embarrassment my conduct has brought on the force and the officers. He added: On reflection my conduct was not normal and I am receiving counselling. Chief Constable Iain Spittal added: Your honesty is worthy of note and I accept the apology to all who have been impacted. Police officers hold immense power and it is important that trust of officers is maintained. Breaches of this nature are of great concern to me and I am firmly of the view that officers and staff would be rightly outraged if the officer involved was to be retained.
