Seven police forces select Mark43 for £450m records system framework
Seven police forces have selected technology company Mark43 to provide a new records management system under a framework worth up to £450m.
The forces – Kent, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire – have appointed Mark43 UK as the sole supplier for a four-year framework covering intelligence, investigations, case management and custody.
The framework is worth £450m excluding VAT, or £540m including VAT.
Individual contracts are expected to run for an initial 10 years, with the option of a further five-year extension.
The system is intended to become a daily operational tool for police officers and staff, replacing or modernising systems used to manage information across the four areas.
The procurement was led by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex on behalf of the seven forces.
Three suppliers submitted final tenders, with Mark43 selected ahead of Deloitte and Axon. The award decision was made on 8 September.
The framework is due to begin on 16 October and has also been structured so that other UK police forces can access the arrangement.
Mark43 already supplies records management technology to Cumbria Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police.
Greater Manchester Police signed an initial contract worth around £19m with the company last year, with its new system expected to go live in spring 2027.
The company opened its first UK headquarters in Manchester earlier this year as it expanded its presence in the British policing technology market.
The new seven-force framework represents a significant expansion of Mark43’s presence in UK policing and creates the potential for other forces to adopt the same system through the national framework.
