Former PFEW chief: 'I will be exonerated'
Former Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) chief executive Mukund Krishna has said he is confident he will be “entirely exonerated” following the termination of his employment with the organisation.
Mr Krishna’s employment formally ended on May 31, the PFEW confirmed. The organisation said he has received his basic salary, which is believed to be in excess of £300,000, up to that date and will receive no further payments.
In a statement issued through his representatives, Mr Krishna said he “vigorously” denied allegations made against him and had acted with integrity throughout his time at the Federation.
He said: “I am confident that, in time, I will be entirely exonerated.”
Mr Krishna was arrested in March as part of an investigation by the City of London Police into allegations of fraud relating to governance and financial decision-making within the Federation. He has not been charged with any offence and remains on bail.
The PFEW previously suspended Mr Krishna following his arrest and appointed an interim chief executive while the investigation continues.
The City of London Police investigation remains ongoing.
